The role involves overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a large distribution centre, ensuring smooth business operations, inventory management, and team development. As a Warehouse Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, managing staff, driving performance, and implementing strategies to foster business growth. You will work closely with the team to ensure that warehouse activities, such as inventory management, stock counts, and invoicing, are carried out efficiently. In addition, you will be responsible for training, recruitment, and maintaining excellent relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee daily business operations and manage a team of 29 employees.
- Develop and implement growth strategies to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
- Train low-level managers and staff to improve their skills and performance.
- Handle recruitment and staffing needs to ensure sufficient workforce levels.
- Manage site finances, including wages and invoicing.
- Evaluate performance and productivity, providing feedback and implementing improvements.
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
- Conduct monthly stock counts and manage inventory, ensuring accuracy.
- Generate and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance and progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications |
- Diploma in Business Management, Supply Chain, or Distribution (preferably in a Mega or Large Distribution Centre).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse management, with a strong focus on FMCG or the Liquor industry.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and overseeing operations.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in managing processes and documentation.
- Computer literate with experience in MS Office and SAP.
- Proactive and solution-focused mindset.
- Prior experience working in large distribution centres, especially in FMCG or Liquor sectors.
- Experience in managing and improving warehouse performance and inventory systems.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating operations and implementing improvements.
- Flexibility to work varying hours as required.
