We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Qualified Actuary Specialist to join a leading insurance company. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with at least 10 years of experience in the insurance industry to take on a key role in valuations, forecasting, regulatory reporting, and automation projects. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and train junior staff while working closely with the business to maximize value creation.
As the Qualified Actuary Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert actuarial analysis, valuations, and forecasting. You will lead actuarial projects, including experience investigations, the analysis of embedded value, and regulatory reporting (SAM). In addition, you will contribute to automation initiatives, collaborate with business units to enhance value creation, and mentor junior actuaries within the team. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and helping the company achieve its strategic goals.
- Perform actuarial valuations, including embedded value and the analysis of changes in embedded value.
- Lead experience investigations and analyses to ensure the accuracy of assumptions used in valuations.
- Provide forecasting and budgeting support to ensure financial targets are met.
- Support SAM and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drive automation initiatives within the actuarial department to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with business units to identify opportunities for maximizing value creation.
- Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to junior actuarial staff, enhancing their skills and career development.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and strategic decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications |
- At least 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Expertise in embedded value and analysis of changes in embedded value is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to actuarial analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, with the ability to perform complex calculations and data analysis.
- Experience with actuarial modelling software such as Basys, Prophet, or Moses.
- Familiarity with Qlikview or SQL is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-actuaries and senior management.
- Experience in automation projects and driving process improvements within the actuarial function.
- Knowledge of SAM and regulatory reporting requirements within the insurance industry.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadline
