About the Opportunity

A leading company in the security solutions sector is seeking a Business Development Consultant to join their team. This role requires a proactive and results-driven individual with a proven track record in sales, particularly in the security industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of technical solutions that meet client expectations.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Consultant, you will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring that installations are carried out to the highest standards. This role combines strategic sales with hands-on project management and client service. You will be expected to engage with potential clients, create accurate proposals, and oversee the implementation of solutions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to acquire new clients in the security solutions sector.
  • Prospect for new clients and generate leads through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Prepare accurate cost proposals and quotations for clients based on their requirements.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations, focusing on showcasing the company's technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Oversee the implementation of security solutions, ensuring that installations are completed on time and to specification.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure solutions align with client requirements.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial prospecting to final installation and post-sale support.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to management regarding sales activities and client status.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum of Grade 12 Matric.
    • PSIRA registered.
    • At least 3 years of experience in security sales, with a proven track record in business development.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Demonstrated ability to sell technical solutions and provide accurate cost proposals.
    • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
    • Excellent leadership, initiative, and administration skills.
    • Clean disciplinary, credit, and criminal record.

      Preferred Skills

      • Experience with security systems or technical solutions is highly advantageous.
      • Strong background in both direct sales and project management.
      • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high client satisfaction.
      • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tracking software.
